Day 11 – Off to Santa Marta

Today is another transit day – no flights but a drive from La Jorara back to Santa Marta.  We have one full day here before joining our tour to Ciudad Perdida (the Lost City).  We had an interesting night last night with a blood curdling scream from the room above which happened shortly after 4 doors in a car slammed shut we thought the guerrillas or narcos had hit the resort.  Luckily for us it was someone who had a dag phobia being chased by the gentlest Rhodesian ridgebacks.  They shouldn’t have driven up to the room which made the dogs a bit suspicious.

We said our good byes to Andrea, Jesus, Luis and the chefs and were driven back to Santa Marta by Ivan and Olga (I am so sorry if i got peoples names wrong or misspelled them).  They have all been fantastic and anyone coming to Colombia should make the time to spend a few days at La Jorara near Palamino.

We have spent the afternoon wandering around Santa Marta and now have to get used to being in the hustle bustle of a busy little city.  Tomorrow we will explore a bit or have a dip in a much calmer and clearer Caribbean than we have experienced recently.

For those following the adventures of Beyonce the llama i am sorry to tell you she decided to remain behind at La Jorara and we will now be joined by Teddy Tortugero.
