We were originally going to do Universal Studios today but it was a late night last night by the time we got to the Venice Suites on Venice Beach.
Stu and I were up really early – below is the view from our hotel balcony. We walked around the local neighbourhood and found a huge grocery – below are a few of the sights.
After we met up with Jayenne and Peter and had a diner breakfast (it was very nice and indulgent after 3 weeks of rice and beans (mostly) we headed off in the “yank tank” to do all the touristy stuff – the hollywood sign, Griffith Observatory, food trucks at La Brea Tar Pits and the drive along Hollywood Boulevard.

Jayenne and Peter have headed off to do some stuff this afternoon and Stu and I walked from Santa Monica Pier to Venice. The pier was pretty busy and windy. The temperature today is a cool 15C and i was stupid enough to wear shorts!
