Day 3 – Singapore Zoo

Another early morning start for Stu and I this morning.  I was well and truly awake by 4:30 this morning – unfortunately for both of us the kettle is really loud and making a coffee woke Stu up, this resulted in us being out walking by about 5:30.  We had breakfast and then we all met at 8:30 to catch the MRT and a bus to the Singapore Zoo.

What did the National Day public holiday mean for our zoo experience? Lets just say by 9:30 it was already pretty busy.  There is also a lot of construction going on around the zoo as they are moving the bird park into the zoo precinct.

The singapore zoo is quite large and we spent a fair chunk of our day there today.  I think that we got to all of the animals even if we only tried for one show (the elephant show) which was packed – Craig and Alison and Dennis managed to get in while Stu, Linsey and I sat it out.  I’ll let the photos speak for the zoo.

 Loving my new hat.

After a very full zoo experience we caught a taxi to Bugis+ for a bit of air conditioned retail therapy before heading back to the hotel for a dip in the pool.  I have to say i think this is the coldest pool in Singapore which makes even a very short dip in the pool enough.

We’ve just returned from having dinner at a food court within Bugis Street Markets – i ordered way too much food most of which i couldn’t finish.
