Today was a late start as we are going to meet Mum, Dad and Dave and Joyce at Gardens by the Bay at about 2 pm this afternoon. So Stuart and I went for a walk early this morning came back and have breakfast before we were going to go shopping at Bugis+.
It wasn’t too hot this morning so Stu, Linsey, Craig walked from the hotel down to Bugis. Alison and Dennis had decided to visit Fort Canning this morning as she hadn’t gotten there last time she was here. After Stu and I had shopped until we dropped we went to the hawker centre behind Bugis+ which i think is actually called the Albert Centre. Our meals were only $3 SGD each and were absolutely delicious. A couple of nice locals let us share their table and we had a great chat with them – so much so we almost forgot we had to be back at the hotel before 2pm.

Our bus was on time and we got to the Gardens to meet Mum and Dad et al without any incident. The four of them had just finished a 14 night cruise from Brisbane up to Darwin then through Indonesia to Singapore.
The Gardens are beautiful – our ticket included both domes – the cloud forrest and the flower gardens. We were in there for a couple of hours. The cloud dome is a beautiful rainforest while the flower dome is what the name implies – flowers from around the world.

We caught the tram back to Marina Bay where Alison, Dennis, Linsey, Craig and I went to a bar at the shopping centre and had cocktails and pizza. The food and drinks were delicious and i finally had a good Singapore Sling. Unfortunately we didn’t make it back to meet Mum and Dad at the light show at the Gardens at 7:30. I’ll have to call them today to apologise.
