We have absolutely nothing planned today so it’s a rest day, and a rest with Stu you know means a walking day of sorts lol.
Stu went for a run this morning and then we headed to a shack where they make proper coffee. The coffee was really good nice and strong, not burnt. The only complaint would be that they didn’t heat the milk up enough – but he had just opened so the machine may not have been fully warmed up.
After breakfast we had a quick dip in the pool then decided we would walk into the main village and see if the short cut was still there (we were told by one of the young guys working here that it wasn’t) which it was.

We walked all the way to the end of the village along the beach and had a smoothie at Ohana a beach club/hotel before we walked back through the village to where the shortcut starts.

The walk along the cliffs is beautiful and you cross a lovely little bay which we have always meant to swim at but this time there was a lot of seaweed in the water so we decided to just get back to the villas.
After a quick dip we walked to the opposite side of the headland that our villas are on and went to a little warung attached to a new set of villas. We had lunch here and I took a couple of photos with Harriet – little did I know what was to come.

After lunch one of the staff brought their young baby daughter out (she was probably about 6/9 months old. I pulled Harriet out to show her and the mother thought I was giving it to her. Balinese don’t have a lot and when the mother was so thankful at receiving and the little girl seemed to really like Harriet I decided that she needed Harriet more than I did. So I’m sorry Lauren – I lost Harriet to a little girl on Lembongan who really loved Harriet so Harriet will be staying on a tropical island as a little girls companion. Below is the last picture I took of Harriet.

The phot above is the view from the villas the little girls family work at.
After lunch we walked back to the hotel so Stu could go in the pool, and I headed off for a massage in Mushroom Bay. This started the rest portion lol as we spent the rest of the afternoon either getting a massage or in the pool.
The island had a massive blackout this evening one of the towers fell down. They’re not sure how long it will take to restore power to the island so the villas are running on generators for now.
