What a crazy 12 months it has been – we haven’t been able to leave Australia since March 2020 and while we were in Bali for Christmas 2019 it all seems so long ago. I also feel very disconnected from the blog because no overseas holidays means no blogging. So 2021 means Australia based holidays. We are having a long weekend up at the Sunshine Coast this weekend so i think i will restart the blog as a practice for a month in Victoria and SA in May (subject to any domestic COVID outbreaks and state border closures).
So unlike other trips this doesn’t start at the international terminal – it starts in our drive way and includes Eric for once as we are staying in pet friendly accomodation. With the car all packed and Eric on board we hit the road to drive up to Peregian. Can i just say the Bruce Highway is a bit of a nightmare even at 10am on a Thursday, so many cars and lots of COVID recovery works it would seem – they are upgrading every exit from Caloundra to Yandina.
Our first stop was the little town of Eumundi where we grabbed a coffee and let Eric strecthc his legs. On Saturdays they have the very popular Eumundi Markets but we will probably go to the hinterland on Saturday out to Montville and Maleny. Eumundi has a very pretty Main Street and it’s always fun to look in all of the windows.

From here we headed to Noosa which despite supposed reduced tourist numbers was packed so we couldn’t get a car park just drove down the famous Hastings Street.
We still had some time to kill and weren’t feeling like lunch yet so we stopped at Sunshine Beach to stretch our legs and give Eric some water. After a light shower at Eumundi the weather here has been perfect.

We are staying the the Beachcomber apartments which are about 1.5km north of Peregian and are a few steps from a beach unfortunately it isn’t a dog friendly beach but that is ok. The apartment is ideal for 2 men and a dog lol and has a lovely little courtyard with grass for Eric and even had a fur baby welcome pack waiting for us.

Tonight we are meeting up with my boss and having dinner at Peregian.
