Family trip to the Goldy

We decided to go down to the Gold Coast this morning to visit Molly and have some breakfast. Normally when we go anywhere near the beach I pack Eric’s spare harness and his lead we use in the water and of course towels, boardies and more towels – you can never have too many towels with a longer haired puppy.

Stu’s parents Pat and Jeff and their puppy Henry joined us for the drive down. We were supposed to meet at Currumbin but (forgetting it was school holidays) there was no parking even though it was pretty early. We drove across Currumbin Creek to Palm Beach and the Dune CafĆ©. This cafĆ© is dog friendly and the food was great and so was the service. It is also right next to a dog beach.

It is also right next to a dog beach. The water in Currumbin Creek is quite calm so we even managed to get Eric in the water for most of the time we were there. It is quite shallow at the edges although he even went deep enough at one point that he swam a little. So many people with dogs of all sizes and all very friendly.

This is now our go to beach for Eric I think as he doesn’t like how deep the water in the Spit is or the waves at the dog beach at the end of the spit. He seemed really comfortable in the water today so will try to do this again in the near future.

We left Molly and headed up to Burleigh (no markets) then to Broadbeach where they have a nice Sunday market. We had some iced coffee at McDonalds as no-one could find a cafƩ we could agree on and some shortbread that I bought at the markets.

We had a really nice morning down the coast and had awesome weather – very happy we have no lockdown in QLD either – still not sure how we keep avoiding them.
