We had a pretty big thunder storm in the early hours of the morning which unfortunately hasn’t boded well for the rest of the day. Today was going to be an explore the local area type day so as soon as the weather eased we jumped in the car to drive south.
We headed down to Rosslyn Harbour to get the lay of the land for tomorrow – we are heading to Great Keppel tomorrow so I wanted to work out where we are going. I’ve booked a secure car park in a paid facility but it looked like there is lots of free parking – although this way my car will be looked after while we are gone.
From here we drove down to Emu Park to visit the Singing Ship on the top of a hill which overlooks from North Keppel Island to the South including Great Keppel. They have also put a really interesting ANZAC memorial walk in which starts at the top of the hill and finishes at a large memorial.

From here we went to Zilzie to look for a house Jeff remembers that was the only house with a hige lawn that went down to the sea. Lets just say in 40 odd years it has changed and there was no big Queenslander with its lawn going all the way to the beach and that there may have been a bit of development since they were here last.
We went for a walk on a beach next to Rosslyn on the way back to Yeppoon but then then weather has set in so we are staying close to home.

Stu, Pat and I walked down into town in the rain and I had to buy an umbrella. Jeff looked after the dogs at home while we explored Yeppoon.
