It has been a little difficult to do the blog the last couple of days – day 7 I didn’t have a lot to add and yesterday poured rain all day and I was tired from the drive down from Yeppoon.
Day 7:
We drove out to Byfield a little town north of Yeppoon that has a national park (no go with dogs) we visited the Nob Hill Pottery there which had some amazing stuff and had morning tea at the Byfield general store. On the drive back to Yeppoon we stopped at a resort that was owned by a Japanese tycoon which has been abandoned and is just rotting away.

We were all a little tired (I think very sunburnt) it has been very hot and humid so we got back to the house and just collapsed. We went down to the foreshore for a drink on our last night in Yeppoon before heading back for a pot luck dinner to finish all our perishables.

We have really enjoyed Yeppoon although it is very humid and would definitely come back here again in the future.
Day 8:
The drive down to Hervey Bay was slated for almost 5 hours according to our GPS but we needed a little bit of a break by the time we got to the Boyne River and stopped at a coffee van serving coffee and freshly made donuts. Unlike our previous experience with a coffee van this was amazing the people were nice we sat over looking the Boyne River and the food was delicious.
As soon as we got in the car it started to rain and it rained non-stop for the next 380 odd kms. It was still raining when we got to the airbnb at Point Vernon that afternoon (photos are from Saturday when we could go outside). Pat and Jeff met some friends for dinner last night so we were on puppy sitting duty.

Day 9:
What a different day today is- the sun is out. Eric and Henry were a in a good mood this morning having a play fight on the very green lawn. Eric and Henry are loving the back yard and have hardly been in the house today.

We started the day with a short walk to see the sea, then after breakfast went into Hervey Bay to visit a couple of markets including one at Urangan Pier. The pier is not dog friendly but Pat and Jeff went out on to it – it goes for over 1km. Stu and I watched the dogs. I did all the below on manual settings to try and practice my work with using the camera. I am hoping they are bright enough. I’ve been a bit lazy this holiday and used the AUTO a lot.

We picked up some natural dog treats at one of the stalls at the smaller market which Eric loves and Henry will only eat after Eric has had some.
Stu has gone for a walk while I had a nap and has taken some snaps of the beach behind the house we are staying in – even getting a photo of a sea eagle and kangaroo.
