Day 13 – Phuket to Phi Phi Island

What a difference the change in the weather has made.  We didn’t want to leave Phuket now the sun is out. We were thinking how nice it would be to have one more day to sit our backsides on recliners down on Patong Beach.  This is not to be.

We were picked up at 11:30 to begin our journey over to Phi Phi Island.  We went by van to the Royal Phuket Marina where we were met by hotel staff who whisked our bags off while we sat in an airconditioned waiting room for the boat to depart at 1.  The boat trip is about an hour and the conditions were really good – very little bouncing today as there wasn’t much wind.

When we arrived at Phi Phi Island we were all really glad to have left Phuket.  The resort is amazing and the water around it is very clear and clean.  I had upgraded Stu and I to an Ocean Front Junior Suite which has direct access to the sea.  The view is amazing all we can see if sea and other islands, we don’t have any bungalows in front of us.

We went t the big pool and ordered a late lunch and some drinks.  The drink were delicious probably some of the best we have had this trip.  I tried a chocolate martini, a mai tai and then a lychee daiquiri.

We went out to the village behind the hotel to eat last night and finally got to eat Thai food outside the resort (the weather in Phuket meant we ate at the Diamond Cliff a lot).
