Our run of good weather has continued this morning with a beautiful day with no rain in sight.
The plan for this trip was for today to be the day that we walked to Ton Sai and then caught a longtail boat back to the resort and for tomorrow to be snorkelling. Due to my broken toe I can’t do either of these – the walk for obvious reasons, the snorkelling because you have to lift yourself up on to the boat and I can’t risk kicking the ladder or side of the boat with my foot.
The resort is very quiet, I don’t think it is high season now. After our breakfast the group going for the walk set off while we had a quick dip before renting a longtail boat to go to Ton Sai where we were meeting the walkers.
Ton Sai like everything on this island has changed so much. There are a lot of permanent structures that weren’t here when we came 12 years ago. We caught up with everyone at a little bit of beach where the longtails pull up. There was a family there where the father seemed to have every piece of photographic equipment know t god and man. He kept taking photo/movies of the kids with camera, drone and go-pro. The mum kept telling the kids to move away from us – they were all very pretty and blonde (insta perfect family). They seemed very unimpressed that we continued to swim while they quite obviously had more right to the beach than us. What was our response – we all stayed in the water

After getting a haircut and a beard shave (I have a facial and massage booked for Friday at the hotel spa). We had a quick bite of lunch and headed back to the hotel to spend the afternoon in the sea/pool maybe with a couple of lychee daiquiris. We had dinner out in the village again last night.

Beautiful looking water. Glad you stood your ground with the insta-fam however my 3 kids are blonde are you being a blondist 😉 With all these facials, massages and spas I expect you will put us all to shame when you come back! We will all look tired, haggard and exhausted and you will look fresh as a daisy 🙂
