Day 16 – Phi Phi Island Village to Singapore

Still not a lot to say today either.  We are transiting from Phi Phi Island back to Phukent and then on to Singapore.

Today is supposed to be rainy but we woke up to another beautiful morning which has made it very hard to leave.  We decided to leave our packing until after breakfast.  Stu went in to the ocean for a swim and then for a run.  When he got back we both hopped in the pool for a quick dip before breakfast.

On the walk to breakfast we saw another monitor (or the same monitor).  At breakfast a storm came over and we ended up having to wait until the storm passed before going back to our room to pack.  Again another quick dip (very distracting this good weather) then packed and a call to the hotel to pick our bags up.

As soon as our bags were gone housekeeping arrived and we had to leave our room – it all happened very quickly.  To pass time, we had an hour up our sleeves, we had a coffee at the resort café and did a little bit of shopping – we both bought a new hat.

The boat ride to Phuket took just over an hour but it was extremely bumpy.  It wasn’t as bad as some of the crossings we have had to Lembongan or when we came back from Koh Tao but it was pretty yuck in its own right.  I think because it is bumpy for the whole hour it felt worse.

We got to the airport without much hassle only to find out that we couldn’t check in until 3 hours before the flight – luckily we didn’t catch the 8am boat the resort wanted us to catch.  The flight to Singapore was delayed by 20 minutes but we are all here safe and sound.

The sad thing is that we have become used to the luxury of the last 3 hotels which isn’t present in the Parkroyal on Kitchener making us feel a little bummed by this hotel.  It is clean, comfortable and right next to an MRT station so we will make do.  It was midnight by the time we got to sleep so this morning (Sunday) it’s a little difficult to get moving.
