I misnumbered my days from about day 11 and I am too lazy to go back and correct them.
We are back in Singapore and we had a pretty rough sleep last night. Once we had played with the air conditioner to make it more quiet (increased temp and manually adjusted the fan) we got to sleep but we were awake by 6 – so we only had about 5 or 6 hours sleep.
We started the morning with a hawker centre breakfast – Stu and I picked a couple of breads with egg in them and curry sauce. The food was very delicious.

We met up with the rest of the gang after breakfast and headed out for the day. We walked along Serangoon Rd back towards the Hilton Garden Inn where we stayed when we came here for Stu’s birthday. From here we caught the MRT to Bugis Street where we may have all participated in a little retail therapy. There is very little that fits me here in Singapore, however when we were in the Bugis Street Market there was a shop with shirts up to 6XL (noting these are still Asian sizes). The woman said she had a shirt that would fit me and got me to try on a few shirts. I ended up buying two Bearbrick shirts which were “good quality because they are from Korea”. Stu ended up not buying anything after the woman made a comment about the shirt size he would need. I got two 3XL shirts which is a little demoralising but they are big and bulky so I could have probably bought 2XL.

We all then went to Chinatown to look at the markets. We got here about lunchtime so had lunch in the food court. I ended up finding a woman making BBQ Pork Buns fresh and had to wait nearly half an hour for my turn.
We cooled down in the hotel pool – pools in Singapore all seem to be freezing cold before we headed to the mall over the road and then pre-dinner cocktails. We went to a little place called Ash and Wen Cocktail Bar. If you are in Singapore and are in Little India head here for a dink. Cocktails are about $20 SGD ++ but worth every penny. I had a grapefruit mojito and a peach cocktail (I can’t remember the name of it) which were delicious. We also ordered some satay and wings which were delivered from a local hawker.

We finished the night with dinner at the ABC hawker centre next to the hotel. We ordered a couple of Naan and a butter chicken – the butter chicken was amazing and tasted so different to the ones you buy in Australia.
