We started the day with a walk along Sanur Beach to watch the sunrise. The weather has been pretty good a little overcast at times but not much rainy during the rainy season. I should be careful I don’t jinx us.
Again there weren’t many tourist out and about, Sanur seems a bit devoid of activity even though the plane we were on was full. Maybe everyone is in Kuta on Canggu.

We were picked up and transferred to our fast boat for a rather uneventful and smooth trip across to Lembongan. The water as you come in to Mushroom Bay is beautiful and clear and looks just like a post card.
We are staying at the Lembongan Beach Club which I think is owned by an Aussie. The resort has always been on our to stay at list but was always too expensive. We have booked a private pool villa, which is nice but a little tired. They seem to be renovating at the moment. We were told when we checked in that you have to pay for everything as you go – no charging to room, which is ok but a little inconvenient.

After a quick dip in our pool we headed out for a walk through the main village here on Lembongan. We shopped at a little clothes shop and the grabbed some lunch at a restaurant down the road. We seem to have come across a new trend on the island – Mexican food but no Balinese food. We ordered the most Indonesian dishes on the menu Gado Gado and a Beef Rendang Poke Bowl. The food was lovely.

After lunch we walked all the way to the North of Mushroom Bay and then back to the motel. We stopped at Ginger and Jam (we had Christmas lunch here in 2019) for a drink (juice people) then headed back to the motel for a swim and a foot massage. The resort pool is very exposed so we haven’t used it yet just our private pool.
We walked down the southern end of Mushroom Beach for dinner (our resort restaurant is not what it used to be) and found what looked like a lovely restaurant overlooking the bay. While it had a beautiful view of Mt Agung, it was very expensive and owned by a French family who sat there smoking, drinking and barking orders at their Balinese staff. So we only had a drink and then left.

We stopped off at a little restaurant on the way back to the motel and had a bite to eat and then headed back to the room. Again, only one Balinese dish, Nasi Goreng which was delicious.
Our mission tomorrow – find Balinese food and a Happy Hour!
