Merry Christmas from Bali. This morning we started the day with a walk through the rice paddies behind the villa. It’s very beautiful and the walk has views to Mt Agung and Mt Batur.

We’ve ordered the crepes for breakfast today and they were very delicious. The breakfasts the villa staff have made have been excellent.
Stu and I decided we’re going to go into Ubud after breakfast and spend a few hours walking around. I stupidly lost my fan and haven’t seen any in Ubud, so no fan, no towel (I left it at the villa) and no water bottle (I left it behind too), I felt like a Bali newby lol. We had lunch at Ibu Oka I ordered the fried pork which was delicious. A big storm rolled through while we were eating lunch but it didn’t dump much rain.

Stu and I decided to walk to the Bintang Supermarket which was a couple of kms. It was very steamy. We bought some groceries and ice thinking our grab (Indonesian Uber) would only take a few minutes – it took 20 and the ice was a bit melted by the time we were picked up and got to the villas.
Christmas dinner was prepared by the villa and was really nice. We’d asked for Indonesian and we got Indonesian. We even got Pandan glutinous rice balls filled with sugar syrup which Stu and I liked but I’m not sure the Wise’s enjoyed (Stu called them Grinch’s balls which may not have helped). Gabrielle had “grabbed” a Black Forest cake for desert – it was $9 delivered.
