Most of today we were on the plane, as we lost 8 hours when we flew back from South Africa.
We arrived in Sydney just before 2pm and were through immigration fairly quickly. We took longer to get out of the baggage hall though as the bag we packed all of our to declare items in wasn’t on the carousel. We had to talk to the QANTAS baggage staff who called a person whose bag was still on the carousel to see if they had our bag. The person didn’t answer so hopefully they have our bag and our bag isn’t in. Johannesburg or worse missing.
We got to the Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach fairly easily, we went past my first primary school, Rainbow Street Public School, on the way here. It is just up the road from our hotel. I went there when dad was posted to Sydney I think I was there for preschool to grade 1 before we moved to Canberra.
We decided we felt like doing a walk last night so we did the Coogee to Bondi coastal walk which is beautiful. It’s about 6km and you go through Clovelley and Bronte Beach along the way. We are glad we did this last night instead of today as planned as it is pouring rain and windy today.
It is nice to be back in Australia and able to get a good coffee. Update on the bag it was with the other passenger and QANTAS have couriered it to us this morning.
