Today we have our hike booked. The hike is to a series of pools and waterfalls in the mountains near the cable car called Telaga Tujuh waterfall and the Sacred Blue Pool.
We were picked up by Azri at 9:30 and driven to the 7 wells park area. There are 7 stations that go all the way to the top of the mountain. From station 6 (the blue pool) to station 7 is a two hour trek each way so we didn’t go up that far as this is only a half day tour.
We started at the entrance and walked up to station 4 where there is a bridge and a drop down to station 3 the Telaga Tujuh waterfall.
There are approximately 370 step (stairs) up to station 3 so you are pretty sweaty and exhausted by the time you get up there. On the way up we saw a flying lizard on the side of a tree. Langkawi has a flying lemur, flying lizard and flying snake, we got to see the lizard.
At station 3 there is a suspension bridge where you can have lots of photos with the cable car running up the side of the mountain. There was no one there when we got there but when we came back there were lots of people bathing in the pool just before the where the water drops down to station 3
From here we hiked about an hour up to the blue pool on the way up we saw a frog and wild fighting fish.
Again it is beautiful and serene at the blue pool and we were early enough we were in front of other groups. Stu swam in the pool while I waded. The water was a little too cold for me. Azri said the water was clean enough to drink but we both decided not to try that.
We walked back down the way we came and went over to stop 3 the Telaga Tujuh waterfall where there were a few people there (most had headed up the mountain) and Stu had another swim. It is very deep so Stu got to have a good swim and cool down. I again paddled (way too cold for me).
From here we headed back to the car and had a cold coconut before Azri took us back to the hotel. We had a late lunch then lazed by the pool until it was time to head to the night markets. The one near us doesn’t start until 7 so Stu went for a quick walk before we headed out. We ate at the same place we ate Sunday night, Stu had the baked fish again.
