We don’t have anything booked for the rest of the holiday, other than to rest, relax and explore Langkawi.
We’v decided to go to Eagle Square this morning. We had our breakfast, wrote the blog and then just slowly got ready to head off. Everything is very relaxed here on Langkawi and nothing really opens until at least 11 if not later.
We drove to Kuah Town where the giant Eagle statue is. The statue is on the water at what I think is the cruise ship terminal. There were a few tourists around the statue but again it was very quiet.

We wandered around the little shopping centre at the terminal and came across our old nemesis Kenny Roger’s Roasters. This is Kenny Roger’s chicken restaurant that seems to be a Malaysian thing as I am pretty sure it is defunct everywhere else. We had a couple of chocolate chip muffins (very tiny) which were made on cornmeal and were just like sweet corn bread.
We then drove up the island towards Tanjung Rhu and around to a craft warehouse which seemed abandoned – although we saw some people leaving so it must have been open. I’ve just googled it and it’s part museum and part craft market place.
We then drove back to Cenang and had some lunch on the beach at a Turkish restaurant before chilling by the pool. Stu went for a big walk while I had a nap (I think I have caught whatever the Europeans have, they have all been coughing and sneezing). We went out to dinner and had Char Kway Teow (I accidentally ordered the version that comes as a soup) and then mango sticky rice and banana pancakes for dessert.
