Today we are off to Alaska. Our email from the cruise line suggested getting to Canada Place between 10am and 11:30am. Linsey got us all booked on the 10am shuttle to the cruise terminal.
Stu and I got to the foyer at 9:30 and they started loading our bags on the shuttle. I had to call Linsey in their room to tell her the shuttle was going early. There were 3 Americans on the shuttle and they had 4 suitcases each so the shuttle was full before Linsey and Molly got downstairs. They ended up putting us on the 10am and Linsey and Molly on the 10:30am.
When you get to Canada Place it is pretty much a production line. They usher you upstairs to the large halls to take your luggage, check you in and make sure you have a physical copy of your ESTA. Then you go back downstairs for security and immigration. The whole process ran like clockwork, however security hadn’t quite opened when we got to the line.
We were on the ship by 11 and ushered to the Lido deck to be fed and watered (pun) while they turned the ship around and got our rooms ready. Linsey and Molly got on the ship about 10 minutes after us. Our rooms were ready by 1pm and we checked in to our balcony room, 8156, our home for the next week. I had ordered a bottle of sparkling wine for departure so we had our balconies joined up and drank our French Prosecco as we sailed out of port.

Our Steward is Indra and he’ll be looking after us for the cruise. He’s a bit like a fixer, he’s happy to help out.

We all signed up to a tour of the ship and then a wildlife watching talk/activity. We saw a couple of whale’s off in the distance – you could tell they were humpbacks by the height of their spout.
We had dinner in the dining room- we have a fixed time of 7:30pm. We met our waiters but I don’t remember their names (I am a bad cruiser). Tomorrow is a sailing day so lots of activities booked.
