Day 1 – Staying Awake in Anaheim

The title of the post sounds far more dramatic than it actually is.  Neither Stu nor i slept on the flight over last night so out aim today has been to stay awake for the whole day so that we can get a decent sleep tonight before our day at Disneyland. Other than the not sleeping the flight was great premium economy was very comfortable and the crew were great.

We arrived at the Four Points by Sheraton about 8:30 and they had a room we could check into which was really great.  

We freshened up, unpacked our back packs and headed out.  We had two objectives (3 if you count staying awake) – Anaheim Packing District and our first Walmart.

The Anaheim Packing District is about 2.4 miles from our hotel which was a great walk after being cooped up on a plane for 12.5 hours.  What we didn’t count on though was nothing was open until 11, so quick reprioritisation and we headed to Walmart another 2.4 miles from the Packing District.  One the way we spotted a number of tacquarias which we thought may require and further investigation around lunchtime.

Walmart was an interesting experience you can buy everything there including the kitchen sink.  Beyonce was very happy to be out and about visiting her first Walmart too. 

Walking through the burbs of Anaheim we saw some amazing architecture and we found one of the Tacquarias we were interested in stopping at.  The food was amazing and a lot of their clientele were Mexicans so you know the food is good.

We returned to the packing district after lunch.  This was the building they used to pack the citrus in before shipping it around the world.  We didn’t end up trying any of the little restaurants and so after a brief visit (and photos) 

headed back to the hotel to freshen up and wander over to Downtown Disney where we are having cocktails before what will probably be an early night tonight. Beyonce is a bit of a lush and her margarita went straight to her head.
