Hanging bridges day. I have actually been looking forward to today on the basis that i thought all of the bridges were fixed (not suspension) structures. Unfortunately at La Fortuna they aren’t, they are all suspension bridges.
After a lovely walk through the rainforest spotting a bird (who’s type i can’t remember) and the bottom of a two toed sloth we got to the first bridge.
After a couple of failed attempts i got across the 75m span. We then walked through some more rainforest to bridge 2 which is 56m long and 42m high – again i got across after a couple of attempts. Bridge 3 – 42m high and 94m long was the end i couldn’t get across even with Stu telling me to look straight ahead and put one foot in front if the other.

I had to go back across the 2nd bridge then i was driven out to where the hike began to wait for the others before we were all driven back to La Fortuna.
We had the rest of the afternoon off so Stu drew while i pottered. Stu spotted an iguana in the garden and the gardener then showed Stu a green poison tree frog.

We’ve just come home from tortilla making and dinner at Donya Mara’s house which was an amazing experience the home cooked meal was absolutely delicious.

Some photos of me crossing the bridges looking terrified.

Still love sloth face from day 1 going to Turtle Beach

Great photos – bridge not so scarey. What an adventure.
