Sanur 20 December

I had some trouble with my blog editor last night so I am giving a new one a go.

We got to our hotel just after 11pm last night. We’d landed just after 8 but our luggage took over an hour to come up the carousel, we couldn’t find our driver despite he and I both Snapchating our locations, finally it took ages to get the car and get it out of the car park. Denpasar is a very busy airport!

The hotel is lovely and our room has a jacuzzi although I’m not sure we’ll get a chance to try it out but we’ll see.

I woke up at 5 this morning, I only had 4 hours sleep – took a while to get everything to the room and get settled in. The room is quite nice although it looks back onto the suburban part of Sanur.

This hotel is not in the beach, however on our walk this morning we not only found the beach but also where the road comes out near the hotel.

We went for our morning walk as we usually do when we’re on holidays. The architecture of people houses is always amazing here everyone takes a lot of pride in their family compounds.

We’ve had a dip in the pool.

We’ve taken it very slowly today but as I finish this post at the end of the day we’ve walked 22km even though we spent a lot of today by and in the pool.

We walked back into the main part of Sanur in the late morning then walked back to the hotel along the beach. This was easily 10km.

We had smoothies on the beach, supported Bali’s stray animal charity and had Nasi Campur for lunch. It was really delicious and now we feel like we’re in Bali.

After lazing by the pool some more we walked back into Sanur (suckers for punishment) found this quirky mall, and ate in a warung with locals. We had Nasi Goreng and Cap Cay a sweet and spicey vegetable soup – the owner’s version includes Bakso (fish balls) and ayam (chicken). We caught a taxi back to the hotel and the ride home made us realise how far we’d walked twice today lol.
